![]() Then the noise came back for a long time. That evening I was pretty exhausted, especially since I am not a napper. I mentioned it to my room steward later that day. I tried to go back to sleep, but the noise won out. right.WRONG!!! Next morning at 5:30,(Day 3) it started up again. No noise and no problem, especially since I could sleep in next morning. That night we went to the late comedy show and did not get back to our cabin until well after mid-night. I was awaken by some noise from above our cabin around 6:00 AM.(Day 2) No real big deal, I am an early riser most days (except when I am on vacation). HOWEVER, on DAY ONE we were so tired we went to bed early and just passed out. We LOVE cruises and have been on over 15 of them. We gust chalk it up to experience, get up quietly, and move on to try something else. If we go to a show or an event we are not enjoying, we do not sit there and gripe about it. We take a positive attitude and are bound and determined to have fun where ever we go. Menu was altered from day to day so as not to get boring. The food there was varied and not at all like most buffets where everything tastes and smells the same. A/C worked like a charm.īuffet: The Garden Cafe was the big Buffet attraction. Explored the ship and had dinner in the Tropicana Dining Room which was very nicely furnished, had good service, a fairly extensive menu, and excellent food. Went to our Balcony Cabin which was very clean, and while small, all of the space was well planned with a nice bit of storage. Garden Cafe was open for lunch and the buffet food was very good. Had time to explore around a little, grab a bite to eat at the Garden Cafe (Buffet), and have a drink at one of the 20 Bars on board. Cabin was ready about an hour after we boarded. ***** DO NOT BOOK A DECK 14 AFT CABIN*****)ĭAY 1 - Embarkation - smooth as silk - no problems - started at 11:00 AM as scheduled - took about 30 minutes to get on board. The price of BB and BC was the same but BC was on 10 forward and BB was 11 and 12.7-Day cruise aboard Norwegian Getaway sailing out of Miami on Apin cabin 14262 (Deck 14 - AFT. I booked a BB but was also trying to figure out the categories. Thanks for the info on the balcony types. ![]() Like you, I usually book a studio cabin and had the exact same thought about needing to quarantine!! Those studios are really nice when you can get out and about but not to stay in all day long. Glad you booked! I too am a solo cruiser and just booked for September 2021. Do you have a favorite "regular" Balcony stateroom location? Wish I could afford the Spa Balcony or Haven! Maybe one day □ Cabin is either towards Aft or Forward - can be more expensive depending on choice You may already know what the categories mean but I had zero clue! I talked with an NCL Cruise Consultant today and here's what she told me:īA - Top Decks - most expensive Balcony CategoryīF - Lower Deck Balcony - Views not as greatīC - Balcony is not in the middle. As a solo traveler, I have always booked a Studio Room but with COVID-19, I think I would go crazy if an outbreak happened and I was quarantined to an inside studio cabin. I booked my first balcony cabin (go me!) today for a December 2021 sailing. These options may cost more but might be worth a look. A Club Balcony suite with large balcony (M6) is another option for very large balconies located towards the front of the ship and some of the aft-facing balconies (B1) have the largest non-Haven balconies on the ship (balcony depth will vary by deck and balcony width can also vary). ![]() Other options include the larger balconies (B6) but they will usually cost more than a standard balcony. You can look at the various prices for deck and location and pick one of the angled balconies if they are available. You can find the angled balconies on several decks by looking at the deckplan and seeing where the ship gets wider/narrower. The angled balconies such as 11182/11782, 11240/11840, 11274/11874, 11294/11894 are the same price as the standard balcony (seen above) but the angled balconies are about 50% larger because they are deeper on one side. but there are some options that are better. The standard side balconies on Breakaway are rather small. ![]()
